Our Story
EnsembleVault started the same way a lot of great school tools do—out of frustration.
I’m a middle school drama teacher, and like many of us, I was trying to manage costumes, props, and equipment using a mix of spreadsheets, notebooks, and whatever system made sense at the time. It worked… until it didn’t. Things got lost. Items didn’t come back. And every show seemed to add another layer of chaos.
At some point, I got tired of tracking everything on spreadsheets and legal pads, so I started building a simple database for myself—just something to keep better records and make sense of what we had.
Then something interesting happened.
I added a few features so our local high school could use it too. After that, a colleague at another school wanted in. And before long, what started as a personal tool began growing—school by school, program by program.
Kind of like the pile of hoodies that somehow appears in every classroom over the course of a year… it just kept growing.
EnsembleVault is built from real classroom needs, by someone who deals with the same challenges every day. It’s designed to be simple, practical, and scalable—whether you’re running a single program or managing inventory across multiple sites.
What started as a way to keep track of costumes has evolved into a full system for managing uniforms, props, and equipment—so you can spend less time tracking things down and more time focusing on your students and your program.
